The Bob Cummings Show Starring Bob Cummings
I was going to start a blog wit this title. It's was the best title I could think of to one of the best 30-min comedies that ever existed.
"The People's Choice" with Jackie Copper is the first television show I can remember seeing. I think he lived in a trailer and the show was seen through the eyes of his sad-eyed floppy-eared dog, Cleo.
Bob Cummings was both a comic and dramatic actor using the name "Robert Cummings" when he was in a Hitchcock film or the like.
Why was this a great show?
First of all, It's Bob Cummings, the smoothest comic actor ever. he was a photgrapher surrounded by gorgeous models.
Then there was Joi La, a model/actress that more than interested me when I was around 12 and "coming of age". She also played the loving wife of Lester Flatt or Earl Scruggs in "The Beverly Hillbilles" when the boys came to town for a hoe-down with the Clampetts et al. I stil check my TV listings for an appearance by her...:)
Bob was a bachelor living with his sister and her son, the son played by Dwayne Hicman who went on to play Dobie Gillis, another great show of all time that explored various techniques in story telling and also featured Bob Denver (Of "Gilligan's Island"), Tuesday Weld, and Warren Beatty who co-starred in the great episode "Top-Fist".
As for the ladies, there was Shultzie, his secretary played by whoever it was that went on to play "Alice" in "The Brady Bunch", and "Miss Jane Hathawya"....:)
That's all for now...my daughter wants to play checkers...
I am back!
I tried Facebook, but am tired being part of a social experiment. Moreover, Isn't that the way that "The Matrix" started, with machines being our....friends? I hate to think that that jackass Mrk Zzzwhatever his name is...has anything to do with me or my life.
I am watching what is going on there and it is like bees swarming around a hive. Facebook being something that swarm to and cannot be too far away from. I am thinking that keeping up with relationships should be harder than a 'poke'.
What are they poking me with anyway?
So...I am back here.
And I am on SecondLife, which is kind of interesting and better for chats and a new kind of digitized socializing that actually takes work, and a desire to make it work.
Much, much, much, much, much, much more to follow...:)

WE have had no time to do anything. We use to scoff...(well, I did, Alicia did not), but now I get it. Baby = no time and very little " I will do what I feel like doing time or money."This new update features pictures of the and a host of others, including the sunflowers that Alicia has been photographing. We are updating the wall outside of the bathroom that use to have pictures of the guests at our wedding with picts of friends and relatives holding sunflowers... Got a picture of a sunflower? Send it to us so we can collect them for Addease (her nickname based on my father's advice for any person in any situation.AND...Alicia and I are getting our next podcast ready and we need someone to interview and sing karaoke. Like INXS, the houseband needs a singer, and the podcast needs a Mark Burnett.FINALLY...This podcast features a 38 year old presentation of "The Bob Anello Story" I think it is safe to say this groundbreaking recording set the groundwork for today's podcasts. It was made with a 4-track reel-to-reel, three friends, the opening sounds of "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" and the Stones' "Got Live if You Want It!", an old recording booth record that Bob Anello made in the 1940's, and some acapella recordings he made while sitting on the livingroom floor figuring out what he could do with his son's tape recorder that he got him as an 8th grade graduation present. It was presented to him on Christmas day in something like 1968 while he was in traction at St Joseph's Hospital. It made him smile.
